Hotel Procedures

Stay secure in your room

A few habits to keep you, your belongings, and your room safe throughout your stay.

Hotel Security

  • Use the deadbolt lock on your door for utmost safety.
  • Secure the doors with the safety latch for extra protection.
  • Do not permit unknown individuals into your room without verifying their identity.
  • Contact the front desk if you are uncertain about a person’s identity.
  • Safeguard your room keys and avoid leaving them in your room or at the door.
  • Do not hand over your keys to strangers; leave them at the front desk before leaving for the day.

When You Arrive

  • Locate the fire exits and staircases using the property map provided behind your guestroom door.
  • Take note of the locations of alarm pull stations and fire extinguishers on your floor.
  • Locate the “Off” switch on your air conditioner.

Note: Turning off your air conditioner prevents smoke from entering your room in case of fire.

Health & Wellbeing

Our hotel management follows applicable public-health protocols and state regulations. We kindly request our guests to:

  • Wear face masks in the lobby and public areas when applicable.
  • Maintain social distancing where appropriate, including in the breakfast area.

Note: The hotel cannot be held responsible for any illnesses contracted by guests during their stay on our premises.

Emergency Procedures

If something happens, here’s what to do

Stay calm. Follow the steps below in order. Call 9-1-1 immediately for any life-threatening emergency.

In Case of Fire

Act fast. Follow these steps in order.

    Stay calm. Avoid panicking.

    Activate the nearest fire alarm.
  3. 3
    Close doors around the fire area if it is safe to do so.
  4. 4
    Contact the front desk and inform our service staff about the situation.
  5. 5
    Exit your guest room and the hotel property. Remember to carry your room key along.

If There’s Smoke

  • Create a makeshift mask by folding a wet towel into a triangle and securing it over your nose and mouth.
  • Call the front desk and inform the service staff about the situation.
  • Crawl to the door on your hands and knees (or stomach).

Check the Doorknob First

  • DOIf it’s cold, open it slowly and exit the room. Carry your room keys along.
  • DON’TIf it’s hot, do not open the door. Wait for assistance from the service staff.

In the Hallway

  • CLEARIf the hallway is smoke-free, proceed to the emergency exit staircase.
  • SMOKEIf the hallway is filled with smoke, return to your room for further instructions to ensure your safety.

Tornado or Severe Weather

  • When Civil Defense Sirens are activated, the hotel’s Fire Alarm System will also be activated to alert all guests.
  • Evacuation of the guests to the lower level is mandatory per protocol.
  • Our hotel staff will be available to assist you during the process.
  • Hotel management will strive to notify guests regarding the emergency via phone or in-person communication.
