Biedenharn Museum & Gardens – Exciting attractions you will love

It’s an exciting new attraction, the Biedenharn Museum & Gardens of Monroe! As part of a larger museum complex, Biedenharn Museum and Gardens put on regular exhibits and programs. The Gardens have a lovely historic house with a store, a Bible museum, a Coca-Cola museum, and antiques and artifacts. You’re sure to find something you like.

Bible Museum 

The Monroe Biedenharn Bible Museum was founded by Emy-Lou Biedenharn after she saw an 1854 facsimile of the Wycliffe Bible. There are a number of rare and historically significant Bibles in this collection, including a Gutenberg Bible page from 1454-55, an original King James Bible from 1611, and some more. 

The Bible Museum exhibits illustrate the importance of the Bible to Western Civilization, as well as how central it is to American culture. The Biedenharn houses a vast collection of Bibles, a collection of Russian icons owned by Daniel R. Bibb, and special exhibitions all about a variety of topics.

Historic Biedenharn Home

Joseph A. Biedenharn, the first bottler of Coca-Cola, built a house in Monroe, Louisiana, in 1914. Visitors of all ages can take a guided tour of the house and learn more about Emy-Lou’s gracious life. As they were displayed when they were lived in, these rooms reflect a well-travelled woman’s eclectic taste. 

It’s obvious from the furniture and accessories of the house that Emy-Lou loves music, nature, and family. With a library, music room, breakfast room, dining room, living room, and more, we offer great amenities to guests. Emily-Lou’s career as a European singer shows in her bedroom, which has crystal chandeliers, high tester beds, and artistic touches.

Coke Museum  

Coca-Cola’s Museum of History opened in 2008 and has two rooms filled with vintage advertisements, merchandise, and items related to Coca-Cola history. In a replica soda fountain, Mr. Joe Biedenharn tells the story of putting Coca-Cola in a bottle for the first time. 

In addition, visitors will be able to see a demonstration of how the original bottles are made. Visiting the Coke Museum is fun and educational. It has a bunch of memorabilia from Coke’s golden age.
